Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Berea Rides, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
User Eligibility
To use Berea Rides, you must:
- Be a current Berea College student, staff, or faculty member
- Have a valid Berea College email address
- Be at least 18 years of age
- If driving, possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance
User Responsibilities
All users agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information in their profile
- Communicate respectfully with other users
- Honor ride commitments and be punctual
- Report any safety concerns or violations promptly
Drivers additionally agree to:
- Maintain a safe, clean vehicle
- Follow all traffic laws and drive safely
- Not operate a vehicle under the influence
- Maintain valid vehicle registration and insurance
Ride-Sharing Disclaimer
Berea Rides is a cost-sharing platform, not a commercial transportation service. Drivers are not paid employees or contractors of Berea Rides.
Any cost contributions requested by drivers should reflect a fair share of actual expenses (gas, tolls, parking) and should not exceed the actual cost of the trip.
Berea Rides does not:
- -Employ or contract with any drivers
- -Own or operate any vehicles
- -Set or regulate ride prices
- -Guarantee the availability of rides
Limitation of Liability
Berea Rides is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the safety, reliability, or quality of any ride arranged through the platform.
Users participate in rides at their own risk. Berea Rides is not liable for any injuries, damages, losses, or disputes arising from the use of our platform or any ride arranged through it.
Drivers are solely responsible for their vehicles, driving conduct, and any incidents that occur during rides they provide.
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
- Providing false information in your profile or ride listings
- Using the platform for commercial transportation services
- Sharing account credentials with others
- Engaging in illegal activities
- Smoking, vaping, or using illegal substances in vehicles
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or pose a risk to the community.
Users may delete their account at any time through their profile settings. Deletion will remove your profile but may not remove all historical ride data.
